No Tears for the Death of Celebrities

The death-glam celebrity culture, the films about Thatcher or the Queen, even the scandals and the psychoanalytic gossip about the stars-- all these ''genres of injured self hood'' offer brilliant opportunities to sympathize with the privileged and the rich

''look they are humans too -- they suffer and they die -- and they get humiliated -- how unfair -- what a tragedy''

I think this type of soap-opera is outdated.

We are now watching live our own decay
-- our life is under constant threat --

I honestly have no tears left for those who oppress me.

No matter how we ''dramatize'' our life we are rarely treated like ''living'' human beings.

We are dead and we do not know it .

Now this is an up-to-date theme for a modern soap-opera.
